In addition to counselling and advice, the Advice Centre also funds projects to prevent radicalisation and extremism. Since 2012, this has enabled the implementation of projects dedicated to providing advice to relatives and people from the social environment who fear the radicalisation of people in their environment. In order to respond to developments in the field of religious radicalisation, the range of topics for project funding has been expanded since 2017.
Since then, for example, projects in the field of scientific research of radicalisation processes, the topic of "Children growing up in radicalised families" or the coordination of cases dealing with people returning from jihadist combat zones have been funded.
Additionally, the Advice Centre funded a project carried out by the University of Ulm to impart basic knowledge about "radicalisation processes" to health professionals. The information material resulting from this project presents possible indications of Islamist, right-wing or left-wing motivated radicalisation and enables professionals to handle a risk assessment and the duty of professional discretion in cases of radicalisation adequately.
